iAreaNet is launching a handful of new features for its cloud-based business communications suite, iAreaOffice. They're aimed at helping VARs keep pace with their clients’ rapidly evolving business needs.

“The business is changing for VARs, who see their customers wrestle with a much more complex landscape than ever before," said Raul Martynek, formerly of Voxel. “They need a solution that can deliver the cost savings afforded by the cloud delivery profile, with the robustness of any premise-based solution. They have to move beyond classic IT, with a need to integrate telecom services, and take into account the mobile and social revolution. For all of these reasons, iAreaOffice is an invaluable arrow in their quiver as they face new business targets."

iAreaOffice is designed to target IT management and security concerns around BYOD and mobility in general with new dedicated apps available in the Apple App Store for iPad and within Google Play for Android.

iAreaNet also has added social media management to its Intranet offering, including the inclusion of a Facebook-style “Wall" section. Also new is the beefing up of iAreaNet's redundancy profile with a new switch in Atlanta, and the addition of the iAreaNet Disaster Prevention offering to its portfolio, which provides businesses with a live disaster prevention solution with no rebuild time. It can be set up and operational in 24 to 48 hours, the company said.

And finally, the company has completed an extensive upgrade to its phone system to improve call management, with features such as Ring All, a more customizable find me/follow me functionality, as well as an improved user interface.
