Zayo Group has announced its implementation of 100G wavelength services across major markets in the U.S. The 100G wavelength platform is already operational in some locations and will continue to be deployed during the rest of 2012 and into the first half of 2013.
According to Zayo, by upgrading long-haul and metro market networks, they can provide native 100G wavelength connectivity to key traffic aggregation points and IP nodes throughout the U.S. The 100G expansion will offer their customers cost-efficient, high-bandwidth services between major U.S. markets. 100G wavelength services enable customers to meet the growing bandwidth needs and provide operational and cost efficiencies over previous platforms.
"Zayo is a focused bandwidth infrastructure provider and upgrading along key routes to 100G technology is the next step in providing customers with the latest high-bandwidth technology," said Zach Nebergall of Zayo's wavelength product group.
The Zayo deployments include the latest coherent optical technology as well as the ability to scale bandwidth capacity along these routes to 8TB.
