XO Expands Ethernet Services

XO Communications today announced major enhancements to its Ethernet services capabilities with the addition of 100MBps Ethernet over copper (EoC) access speeds and an expansion of its nationwide Ethernet access network to nearly two million business locations.

The company reports that it now offers a broad range of high-speed Ethernet over copper access options supporting even faster access to the company’s portfolio of VoIP, network, security and cloud-based services.

In addition to increasing it Ethernet access speeds, XO will expand its nationwide EoC coverage by the end of the year and bring the total number of XO Ethernet-eligible local switching offices to more than 500 nationwide. This will enable XO to reach nearly two million U.S. business locations.

According to XO, this expanded EoC coverage, along with their  along with their Ethernet network-to-network interface (NNI) agreements with dozens of carriers and cable companies, will give them one of the most extensive Ethernet access networks in the industry.
