Nancy Phillips, co-founder and COO of colo and managed services provider ViaWest, now is the company's CEO.

ViaWest's Nancy PhillipsShe replaces fellow co-founder Roy Dimoff, who will remain board chairman.

“After almost 14 years as ViaWest’s chief executive officer, I have decided it is the right time to transition full executive responsibility to my long-time business partner and co-founder, Nancy Phillips," Dimoff said in a prepared statement. “Nancy is the best person to build on ViaWest’s strong foundation, and I have the utmost confidence that the company will continue to thrive under her executive leadership."

Robert Morse, a partner of Oak Hill Capital Partners, which along with GI Partners bought ViaWest in 2010, expressed confidence in the leadership change.

"Roy’s leadership has put ViaWest in a very strong position," Morse said in a press release. "Customers, partners and employees can have great confidence that, under Nancy’s direction, ViaWest will remain a leader in this growing industry."
