ScanSource Unit To Boost Reseller Support Services

ScanSource Inc. created a new business unit to provide  value-added support services that its resellers can use to extend their capabilities.

The new unit, ScanSource Services Group, including assessment, configuration, implementation, education and training, marketing, and partnership opportunities. 

Mike Burns was names to lead SSG as its president. Burns spent the last 11 years as vice president of ScanSource Inc., where he led the company’s OUI Managed Services business unit.  Previously, he held various roles at Lucent Technologies and AT&T.

Among SSG's initial offerings is support for configuration, integration and activation of mobile devices. It also will offer marketing services, including the creation of on-demand video presentations for resellers to add to their web sites and co-brandable videos from ScanSource’s vendor partners.

Several offerings are specific to Avaya resellers, including training classes on Avaya Aura Communication Manager Maintenance and Troubleshooting and Avaya Aura CM Advanced Features.  In addition resellers have access to configuration and integration for Avaya IP Office R8.1 , enabling them to receive the product fully configured and integrated, along with the option of remote access to pre-program features and functionality prior to shipping, or SSG engineers can program the solution, based on customer specifications. Finally, SSG offers an Avaya Networking Enablement Program, which allows Avaya voice resellers not yet certified in Avaya data to build their data practice with the assistance of SSG’s design architects, system engineers and sales resources.
