Green Cloud Taps Windstream Exec as Dealer Manager

Cloud services provider Green Cloud Technologies, in Greenville, S.C., announced Wednesday it has hired former Windstream executive Robert "Mac" McClenathan as dealer sales manager for Tennessee. He will be based out of Green Cloud's Nashville office, which will open later this month.

In his new role, McClenathan will be responsible for identifying, engaging and supporting sales partners to offering Green Cloud's  virtual server, disaster recovery and virtual PBX solutions.

Previously, McClenathan served as a senior channel manager at Windstream, where he was responsible for recruiting dealers and partners, including data vendors, PBX providers and telecom consultants.  He came to Windstream from its 2011 acquisition of PAETEC, where he worked for nearly four years — first as an account manager and later as a business development manager. Prior to PAETEC, he spent more than four years in sales roles for Verizon Wireless. McClenathan was selected for President's Club at Windstream and Chairman's Club at Verizon Wireless.

McClenathan is the second Windstream alum to join Green Cloud. The company hired Eric Boost, a former Windstream account executive, to run the dealer program in South Carolina earlier this year.

Green Cloud started its channel program in January and distributes its services through authorized sales partners, including telecom agents, local consultants, IT managed service providers and PBX distributors. Green Cloud is focusing its channel development in the Southeast – namely the Carolinas, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia – where it is deploying in-field sales engineers along with channel account managers. The company now has dealers sales managers in South Carolina and Tennessee, and is hiring for North Carolina and the Gulf Coast as well.
