In the wake of its game-changing unified communications and collaboration news, Polycom Inc. is giving its channel partners new financing options and terms to help them sell more RealPresence platforms.
RealPresence now lets users connect with outside video services such as Skype and Google Talk, and Polycom wants to make the most of that capability. The company is not the first to achieve this feat – Vidyo and Blue Jeans have been doing this for some time – but it is the first with the global footprint, partner network and hefty coffers to do so.
To that end, Polycom said this week that its financing arm, funded by GE Capital, now offers extended payment terms and higher credit lines. That means resellers have more time to do installation and receive money from customers before having to pay for their inventory. In some areas, payment terms are as long as 90 days, Polycom said. And, partners may be able to negotiate even longer terms for specific transactions.
