TelePacific Communications on Thursday named former Time Warner Telecom executive Tony Thakur as vice president of engineering.
Thakur has 20 years of experience in telecom engineering and most recently served as executive vice president of engineering and operations for Carrier Ethernet Exchange.
"Tony is a proven leader with an impressive record of implementing and managing advanced telecommunications networks and technologies," said Dick Jalkut, president and CEO of TelePacific, in a statement. "He has built networks from the ground up and transformed legacy TDM (time division multiplexing) networks to next-generation IP, Ethernet and optical platforms. He has deep experience with just about every facet of network engineering and operations, making him a valuable addition to our management team as we continue to grow and expand into new markets."
Before working at Carrier Ethernet Exchange, Thakur was vice president of network technologies and systems for Time Warner Telecom (now known as tw telecom), where he provided strategic direction, technology selection and product development support for next-generation IP solutions.
