Telcentris Inc. on Wednesday opened a new data center at the Equinix colocation facility on 60 Hudson St. in New York.
The move gives the VoIP and unified communications provider's presence on the East Coast. Telcentris said the data center expansion has increased its capacity for managing voice and data traffic, added geographic redundancy, and allows the company to operate as a CLEC in New York.
For agents, the evolution means channel partners now have greater selling power, said Tad Nikolich, vice president of business sales.
"The NYC data center provides a local presence for East Coast customers and agents," Nikolich said. "Also, it equips our agents with the ability to tout expanded capabilities and bicoastal geographic redundancy, which is a major aspect that larger customers are seeking."
