Cloud service provider Intermedia announced this week the launch of Cloud Server, an infrastructure as a service offer targeted at small and medium business. The service is available direct from Intermedia, and through its premium channel program as well as Ingram Micro.

Cloud Server offers four initial configurations, which can be customized with add-ons like memory, processing and storage resources to build a cloud environment that's suited for a customer's specific needs. These include:

•Cloud Server I: 1 vCPU, 1 GB memory, 50 GB storage for $175 per month

•Cloud Server II: 1 vCPU, 2 GB memory, 100 GB storage for $225 per month

•Cloud Server III: 2 vCPUs, 3 GB memory, 150 GB storage for $325 per month

•Cloud Server IV: 3 vCPUs, 4 GB memory, 200 GB storage for $425 per month

Cloud Server is available to customers for a  fixed monthly price, so partners and customers also simplify ROI and cost-of-ownership calculations.

Users can add memory, storage or vCPUs directly from their control panel, without requiring redeployment. New virtual machines can be provisioned within minutes.

All accounts include 99.999 percent SLA, firewall, VPN, complementary migration, 24/7/365 support, public IPs, infrastructure management, nightly backups, monitoring, Windows 2008 Enterprise OS and IIS.

Cloud Server provides simplified management tools for users while also enabling command line access to virtual machines, customizable firewalls, site-to-site VPNs and more.  Network security includes fully isolated tenant networks for every customer and integrated perimeter firewalls using VMware vShield Edge. Site-to-site VPN services come standard to securely enable hybrid cloud scenarios.

Cloud Server is hosted on Intermedia's high availability infrastructure in Tier III data centers that are SSAE16 SOC 1 Type II compliant with redundant electrical and cooling infrastructure, verified levels of physical security and redundant power supplies.

Intermedia Cloud Server partners own the customer relationship, providing application management services (installation, configuration, upgrades, updates), level one support to customers, onboarding support, OS configuration and VPN (site-to-site) integration. Intermedia gives its partners full control over Cloud Server branding and billing as well as the cloud environments using its proprietary HostPilot Control Panel. Intermedia offers partner managed services, partner onboarding support and 24/7 level two technical support for partners.

ServNet Technologies, an Intermedia channel partner since 2010, deployed Cloud Servers to support Cipriani & Werner, PC, a full-service law firm with seven locations in the PA/NJ area, and after the success, Cloud Server is an essential part of ServNet's portfolio. "Cloud Server allows us to affordably deliver a fully configurable, scalable enterprise level solution to our small and medium-sized business clients," said Jim Gatto, CEO, ServNet Technologies, in a press statement. "Intermedia's support, migration services and willingness to work with our staff to ensure the best design and facilitate a seamless integration guarantees we can deliver the best solution to our clients. At the end of the day, delivering Intermedia's Cloud Server as a solution is a genuine value proposition for our customers, who are now beginning to run their business applications on our cloud rather than on premises."
