Telx is especially keen on TCA's voluntary Certified Telecommunications Professional, or CTP, program, which offers standards for technical training and professional experience, among other factors, to validate agents' expertise. As a vendor member, Telx will help develop those benchmarks and best practices.
“Being able to include vendors like Telx in our initiatives will only help us better address industry challenges and deliver value-added programs to meet the needs of agents and vendors alike," said Dany Bouchedid, president of COLOTRAQ and TCA, in a press release.
In addition, Telx plans to enroll several of its employees in the CTP program. These efforts will help Telx bolster its own partner strategy while furthering the indirect channel's growth. For example, the company will participate in TCA events such as the upcoming Channel Chief Summit and Channel Managers Best Practices Forum at the Spring 2012 Channel Partners Conference & Expo in Las Vegas. Telx further will be able to take part in marketing opportunities, such as hosting webinars for TCA agents.
"Telx is proud to join the Technology Channel Association to offer our guidance, experience and leadership in the development of best practices to foster the growth and success of the indirect sales channel and its businesses," said Kirk Horton, vice president of channels and alliance for Telx.
TCA membership is open to agents and vendors. The organization is the indirect sales industry's first nonprofit trade association.
