Value-added reseller Quest has partnered with Desktone Inc. to offer Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS).

Now, Quest partners can sell cloud-hosted virtual desktops, since the company is combining Desktone's DaaS platform with NetApp's storage and management systems. The need for virtual desktops is increasing in line with remote workers and Windows 7 migrations.

“With the rise in workforce mobility, we’re seeing demand from our customers for technology solutions that support all types of devices, from smartphones and tablets to MacBooks and PCs," said Tim Burke, CEO of Quest. “We evaluated traditional virtual desktop infrastructure vendors but realized they are missing many of the features required by service providers. With Desktone’s DaaS expertise and NetApp’s extensive storage technologies we’re able to quickly provide our customers with flexible, secure virtual desktops whenever and wherever they are needed."

Quest targets customers including enterprises and SMBs. The VAR will offer its DaaS product starting in February.
