The U.S. Department of Defense has tapped Level 3 Communications to operate and maintain fiber-optic networks for the military.
The contract that was awarded by the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization is valued at up to $410.8 million, the Denver Business Journal reported, citing a Pentagon website.
Colorado-based Level 3 issued a brief statement on the contract.
"Level 3 is proud and pleased to provide fiber cable operations and maintenance support to the Defense Information Systems Agency," said Edward Morche, senior vice president of Level 3’s Government Markets Group. "Level 3 will continue to increase focus on serving the government sector with advanced network, video, voice and managed solutions."
