Polycom Appoints New Channel Exec for North America

November 14, 2011 - News

Unified communications (UC) provider Polycom Inc. has named Dan Sibille its new vice president of North America Channels.

Polycom's Dan SibilleSibille will manage all aspects of partner development, particularly with resellers, solution providers, distribution, call control vendors and regional system integrators. He'll report to David Ruggiero, theater president of North America, and also work with Ron Myers, senior vice president of worldwide channels.

Sibille boasts more than 27 years' sales experience, much of it in the channel. For example, he comes to Polycom from LifeSize Communications, a division of Logitech, where he led the Americas channel strategy, and developed and launched the company's global channel program. Prior to LifeSize, Sibille held channel and sales leadership roles at companies including Extreme Networks, Internet Security Systems, and 3Com Corp.

“Dan’s solid track record of channel sales leadership experience and understanding of unified communications will help evolve how our channel partners sell to accelerate our growth in this dynamic market space," Ruggiero said in a prepared statement.

Sibille will pay special attention to new market opportunities for video that includes social media and mobility.

"I’m excited to ... work with our channel partners to deliver compelling solutions to our customers that span from the RealPresence Platform to immersive room systems and mobile devices," he said in a press release.

Sibille will be based in Atlanta.
