PlanetOne Bringing Level 3, Windstream, EarthLink, Others to Final Road Show Event
September 28, 2011 - News

PlanetOne Communications is organizing what it calls an “unprecedented gathering" of senior executives from five large, competitive providers to talk about the impact of recent mergers on the agent community.

On Nov. 9, the master agency will finish its annual Delivering the Dream Telecom Tour in Scottsdale, Ariz., where it is based. PlanetOne will wrap this year’s road-show series with a frank discussion with representatives from Level 3 Communications Inc., CenturyLink Inc., Windstream, EarthLink Business and MegaPath.

Slated participants include names very familiar to agents: Level 3’s Nigel Williams, senior vice president of enterprise sales and strategic alliances; CenturyLink’s Blake Wetzel, vice president of alternate channels for the Business Markets Group; Windstream’s John Leach, executive vice president of business sales and marketing; EarthLink Business’s Cardi Prinzi, executive vice president of marketing; and MegaPath’s Dan Foster, president of business markets. Each of the providers specializes in technologies hot in the agent world, including Ethernet Internet access, IP communications and, increasingly, cloud services. They've engaged in significant M&A to increase their share of each of these, and other, markets.

Ted Shuman, president and founder of PlanetOne Communications, said the panel will help channel partners determine what’s ahead for the communications sector.

“Agents are concerned about how these megamergers will impact the industry," Schuman said.  “So I’ve asked all the leading providers to come to Scottsdale, sit down with us, and give us some plain talk about our future."

The final “Delivering the Dream" event of 2011 will be held at the Talking Stick Resort & Casino. It’s free to attend – including meals and refreshments – and also will feature networking, a golf tournament, and prizes and giveaways.
