Optimum Lightpath has unveiled a cloud-based phone service aimed at the midmarket and large businesses.

The next-generation of Optimum Lightpath Hosted Voice offers new features including capabilities to keep mobile workforces seamlessly connected on the go. Based on flat-rate pricing, the company says Hosted Voice requires little or no upfront costs and runs over Optimum Lightpath's 100 percent fiber network for high reliability.

Optimum Lightpath Hosted Voice was designed to incorporate customer feedback. It builds on the company’s first-generation hosted voice product announced nearly three years ago. The service is sold as an add-on to Optimum Lightpath's Internet Voice Bundle. The service includes additional Internet bandwidth to support phone calls and a range of phone minutes-of-use packages. It also offers free calling to other Optimum Lightpath Hosted Voice customers and HD Voice.

A comprehensive feature set, enabled by Metaswitch's MetaSphere multimedia application server, includes call processing, convergence, mobility and collaboration.

"For our latest Hosted Voice offering, we spent considerable time learning more about what businesses wanted from our service, how they wanted to buy it and what features would help empower those using it," said Julia McGrath, SVP of Marketing and Business Development, Optimum Lightpath. “The result is our next-generation Optimum Lightpath Hosted Voice."

Optimum Lightpath is a provider of Ethernet-based communication solutions for New York metropolitan area businesses.
