BTG Joins Citrix Provider Program

August 04, 2011 - News

IT solutions provider and telecom agent Breakthrough Technology Group (BTG) announced Thursday that it has joined the Citrix Service Provider Program (CSP).

Citrix Service Provider partners use Citrix virtualization products, including hosted desktops and applications, to deliver hosted services to customers. Participation requires approval from Citrix and an agreement to use Citriz products in  a hosted, multitenant environment as well as a current membership in the Microsoft SPLA program.

BTG is a provider of managed desktop and server virtualization. It will add Citrix products, including XenApp, XenDesktop, XenServer and NetScaler, via its AppsAnyplace platform, which includes hosted SaaS services such as hosted Exchange 2010, hosted SharePoint 2010, Lync Server 2010 and hosted archiving, private cloud builds and application management. BTG also provides end-to-end 24/7 managed support, help desk and business continuity via its geographically separate AT&T SAS70 Tier4 Data Centers.

BTG CEO Jeff Kaplan said in a press statement that the company has been working with Citrix technology for several years. In addition, BTG uses the software Citrix acquired in July.  Kaplan said this promises “an even tighter coupling for BTG customers running on the software and Citrix products."

“BTG is a valued partner in the Citrix Service Provider program," said Scott Swanburg, director of market development for the Citrix Cloud App Delivery Group, in a press statement. “With the breadth of their solutions and services, they are bridging the gap between network consulting and application/desktop delivery. With their AppsAnyplace solution, businesses now have the option to access their critical applications in a hosted environment using Citrix technology. XenServer and the new CloudStack solution are a crucial part of the offering and provide an excellent platform from which to deliver hosted services. We anticipate BTG will contribute to the continued growth of this business."

BTG is Green-IT Certified by the MSPAlliance, a Microsoft Solution Provider and was honored as the 2010 Top-Revenue Generating Solutions Partner for AT&T.
