Lightyear Network Solutions Inc. has launched a new, upgraded version of its LightSource agent portal.
LightSource is the Kentucky-based CLEC’s Web portal and price-quoting engine for channel partners. But LightSource now offers three pricing levels with corresponding commission rates. That means agents can choose which price to propose to customers.
“We find that agents really like having the ability to pick and choose how much to earn depending on the opportunity," said Kevin Parker, Lightyear’s vice president of sales.
Lightyear agents also now can quote Ethernet services, an option that wasn’t part of the earlier version of LightSource. Plus, there are now “fast quotes" for products including dynamic T-1, wireless, dedicated Internet access, SIP trunking, MPLS and point-to-point data service.
In addition, agents can e-mail a quote directly to customers from LightSource, or send a proposal with Lightyear marketing material to the end user. Other capabilities built into the new LightSource: validated customer address and online ordering forms.
