IP phone maker Fonality has designed a new Unified Communications (UC) platform that connects SMBs’ phone and desktop systems.

Fonality says its answer to UC puts all phone, desktop and business applications into one interface, thanks to the “Heads Up Display." The approach cuts down on wasted time as workers try to pin down information, or contact colleagues or customers, and streamlines processes, Fonality said. There’s also presence and activity monitoring, along with customizable “find me/follow me" features, and unified messaging for e-mail, SMS and Microsoft Outlook.

The new platform starts at $30 per user, per month. It integrates with apps including Salesforce.com, NetSuite and SugarCRM. In addition, Fonality created its UC system to work in contact-center environments; features include call-sharing, audio conferencing, call status and performance metrics.

“Quite simply, we’re going to change the way … businesses communicate," said Fonality CEO Dean Mansfield.

Fonality distributes through resellers and affiliate partners.
