Spectrum, based in Bloomington, Minn., and Transcend United, based in Springfield, Pa., will operate as an IT/communications technology provider under the Transcend United Technologies name. The combined entity will have a significant footprint in the Twin Cities area, as Transcend already has a branch office in Minneapolis.
The new Transcend United will resell Cisco, Avaya, Nortel, ShoreTel and Riverbed technologies, with expertise in unified communications, network infrastructure, backup recovery and availability and data center optimization.
“Spectrum Solutions has an outstanding reputation for engineering expertise and customer service with enterprise and midsized accounts in the Twin Cities and throughout the Midwest," said Rick Hirsh, Transcend United’s CEO in a statement. “Bringing Spectrum together with Transcend United significantly extends our expertise in voice, data, wireless, and converged technologies."
“Transcend United and Spectrum Solutions have a similar focus on delivering high-levels of technical expertise with world-class customer service," added Lee Orr, president and CEO of Spectrum Solutions. “We are very excited about this merger, and believe our customers will be as well. We’ve added more sales and engineering, and greatly expanded the range of communications and IT infrastructure solutions we can offer."
The transaction was structured as a merger. All of the executive management and the key members of staff are part of the new, larger entity, according to the company.
