September 22, 2010 - News

CHANNEL PARTNERS — New Edge Networks (Booth #4024), the managed services business communications unit of EarthLink Inc., announced at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo that SimpleSignal Inc., a hosted PBX and Unified Communications service provider for small and midsized businesses, has established a direct connection to the New Edge AX ecosystem of business applications.

SimpleSignal’s hosted VoIP platform is now directly connected to the New Edge nationwide MPLS network. By offering its services through New Edge AX, New Edge says SimpleSignal is extending to its customers the Quality of Service (QoS) inherent in the New Edge Network with the ability to run business-critical applications over a private and secure network environment.

The New Edge network supports end-to-end traffic prioritization and predictable application performance which will further enhance SimpleSignal’s unique solutions which integrate advanced VoIP calling features with popular business applications, including CRM and outlook applications, the company said.

“SimpleSignal’s commitment to New Edge’s MPLS network allows us to deliver private network capability nationwide coupled with our hosted voice service," said Michael Sterl, VP, North American Sales, for SimpleSignal.  “It enhances our ability to deliver voice with Quality of Service to a nationwide network.  It essentially extends our coverage into New Edge’s footprint, expanding our ability to provide private networks leveraging DSL in difficult to reach geographic areas."

“SimpleSignal’s mission of focusing on tools and applications that make technology more accessible and affordable for businesses is gaining traction in the market," said New Edge Networks President Cardi Prinzi. “Like New Edge Networks, SimpleSignal concentrates on providing value-added services to the Small and Medium Business (SMB) market. Our New Edge AX ecosystem enables application providers like SimpleSignal to more efficiently reach customers with the underlying reliability of a performance-driven cloud-computing environment."

Hilary Fox of Advoda, a master agent that represents SimpleSignal, added, “The ability to leverage SimpleSignal’s carrier grade voice solutions via the New Edge AX ecosystem with underlying MPLS network allows us to design the optimum converged solution for multi-location clients. We can now offer MPLS with network firewall and diverse access options like DSL for clients with smaller locations. SimpleSignal’s Hosted PBX and/or SIP Trunks now with QoS throughout the network, plus all of its killer voice apps and mobility features, add up to a solution you just can't get from a traditional phone service."
