Mitel Taps Nortel Exec to Lead U.S. Channel

Mitel Networks Corp. announced Sept. 3 that Philip Keenan, a former Nortel executive, has been appointed as vice president of U.S. Partner Business, effective immediately.

In his new role, Keenan will be responsible for all channel sales and support activities in the U.S. market. He will report to President and COO Paul Butcher.

Keenan has more than 25 year experience in worldwide sales, marketing, and strategic business development. Previously, he was the vice president of multimedia services at Nortel where he established Nortel's telepresence and collaboration services. Prior to that, he worked as a senior executive at Polycom where he held key positions, including senior vice president of  strategy and solutions marketing, senior vice president of worldwide sales and general manager of the network systems division.

Keenan has a Bachelor of Science degree from Cardiff University, where he graduated with honors.

Mitel provides unified communications and collaboration software applications, IP telephony platforms, mobility applications and managed and network services.
