Steve Jobs has to be loving this.
Remember a couple of months back, when the Apple CEO tried to explain away the iPhone 4’s antenna issues, saying that most other smartphones have similar problems? Nobody really bought it then. But as it turns out, maybe he was right.
Gadget pub Mobile Crunch is reporting that it’s hearing a lot of complaints about the Motorola Droid 2 from Verizon Wireless related to maintaining a signal. In fact, one of the devices Mobile Crunch is trying out has a signal that’s “all over the board." The publication claims it will go from a full signal down to almost nothing in the same location. It’s a similar story over at Engadget, where that gadget site says all of the units it’s trying out are having “endlessly fluctuating bar counts."
No word yet how widespread this problem is or what fix there might be for it, but it could be a chink in the armor for the Droid 2, which up until now has received mostly positive reviews and had much anticipation building for its release last week.
