Cloud service provider Model Metrics has released a mobile cloud platform for the enterprise, giving companies the ability to utilize critical business applications on smartphones, iPads and other mobile devices.

The Model Metrics 2GO Cloud Platform delivers enterprise-class business productivity tools to mobile devices, enabling access both online and offline. Users can access and modify Salesforce-based records while offline, and when the device connects to the Internet, the changes are automatically synchronized with Each application features an icon that sits on the device’s user interface, providing one-click access.

The platform features a number of application modules so users can purchase exactly what they need. It also features pre-built functionality for easier customization of applications, and supports devices including Android tablets and smartphones, iPhones and iPads, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and traditional tablet PCs enabled by Adobe Flash Builder for, HTML5 and Salesforce Mobile.

Model Metrics got its start in the mobile space about three years ago, when it saw a need in the marketplace, said John Barnes, CTO. “We have rich roots in the space, which was having a hard time penetrating the life sciences market, so we built out our first mobile application, Pharma2Go, as the first link in the mobile. Then over the last two years we’ve seen interest in a number of verticals, so we looked across all the different use cases we’ve had and created prepackaged modules. 2GO is structured so users can rapidly create an application that suits their needs using those modules."

2GO is available now in four flavors: Pharma2Go, for the life sciences space, including account and contacts and pre-call/call reporting modules; CPG2GO, for the consumer packaged goods space, including pricing/promotion and order entry modules; Retail2GO, for the retail space, including digital sales aid and content and route planning modules; and Your2GO, for other verticals, including sample management and signature capture and inventory management and barcode scanning modules.
