Videoconferencing and telepresence managed services provider Glowpoint has upgraded its Video Room Sweep cloud-based management and diagnostic application to include support for LifeSize and Tandberg systems, effectively doubling the number of vendors’ technologies it supports.
VRS scans and emulates video sessions of customers using LifeSize, Tandberg, Cisco and Polycom technologies to determine the health of the components and the performance of the network, and notifies administrators in real time of any problems. It also alerts Glowpoint’s Video Network Operations Center regarding any service, hardware, connectivity, or compatibility issues that needs immediate attention.
The VRS is available via the Glowpoint customer portal tool, which also gives users complete access to their video services.
“The Video Room Sweep actively places a call within the enterprise and simulates a call by calling other rooms within the enterprise," said Anil Balani, senior vice president, Product Development for Glowpoint. “The application is a cloud-based solution – it does not require deploying of probes or any other device but uses the video rooms for monitoring the latency and packet loss."
VRS is part of the VNOC managed service and also available as a standalone offering, Balani said.
Glowpoint has about 673 managed service partners and almost 30,000 certified video endpoints in more than 35 countries.
