Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division and TelePacific Communications announced Wednesday the interoperability of SmartVoice, TelePacific’s SIP trunking solution with Toshiba’s family of Strata CIX IP business communication systems.
In addition, SmartVoice is now available from Authorized Toshiba Dealers to customers in TelePacific’s California and Nevada service area.
“The knowledge of the Toshiba Dealers is a key success factor for developing best practices for installing SIP trunks with an IP PBX,” said David Zahn, vice president of marketing for TelePacific Communications. “SynerTel equipped the TelePacific QA laboratory with a Toshiba CIX system and both SynerTel and ATS provided valuable feedback to TelePacific which has been used to improve operational practices for installing the service.”
SmartVoice uses the dynamic capabilities of SIP technology and “bonding” to provide the voice services while increasing the available data bandwidth. It includes access to an advanced SIP network provided by a TelePacific-managed premises gateway; dynamically integrated, high-capacity IP access on TelePacific’s private IP network; advanced compression software that can support up to 24 voice calls on a single T1; data services over a fully meshed IP network with SLAs offering up to 99.999 percent uptime; unlimited local and IntraLATA toll calling with flexible long-distance calling packages with generous usage amounts; and access to affordable “remote call forwarding” service with telephone numbers from anywhere in TelePacific’s service area.
