Open-source e-mail and collaboration software vendor Open-Xchange has done a little collaborating itself to offer an enhanced unified communications product set that includes telephone and fax integrated with e-mail, contacts, calendar and task information.

Open-Xchange has partnered with 4PSA, a provider of UC, VoIP delivery solutions and business and operations automation, to offer Open-Xchange 4PSA VoipNow Bundle, a cloud-based solution that incorporates the Open-Xchange collaboration software with UC and virtual PBX solutions.

Current features of the release include calendar subscription for the Google calendar; optimized calendar invitation and confirmation; and usability improvements of calendar, tasks and permissions. Future releases will include presence and instant messaging services.

“The combination of our business-class e-mail and collaboration with IP-based telephony, fax and other services provides users unmatched ease of use for their day-to-day communications,” said Rafael Laguna, CEO, Open-Xchange, in a release announcing the offering. “Enhancements to the user interface and the addition of Google Calendar integration provide users with a very competitive open-source alternative.”

The VoIPNow Bundle, available now, is aimed at cloud-based services providers and on-premises end-users.
