VMware Touts Cloud Initiatives

This week, at the annual VMware Partner Exchange, the company presented to partners its cloud computing strategy and opportunities.

VMware has a few items on the agenda for harboring cloud adoption, including the extension of its vSphere platform into the cloud and taking steps to enable VMware customers to work with any public cloud. Partners will also benefit from VMware’s recent acquisition of Zimbra, a collaboration software vendor. The company has hopes for solution providers to build private clouds and then resell access to end customers.

VMware’s 1,700-plus partners deliver cloud computing services as part of the vCloud initiative.
