The blogosphere isn’t being so kind to Pepsi for its iPhone app that many say objectifies women.

The app, called “Amp Up Before You Score,” is for Pepsi’s Amp Energy drink. The new app gives men suggestions on how to pick up two dozen different types of women, including the “rebound girl” and the “cougar.” It gives suggested pick-up lines for each and encourages users to post details about their “score” on Facebook and Twitter.

Pepsi has apologized, via Twitter (what else?), saying it was meant as a humorous attempt to show the lengths men go to meet women. The cola company has not decided if it will pull the app.
