As ex-workers and retirees try to keep their benefits alive, another revelation has come to light in the ongoing Nortel Networks bankruptcy saga. The equipment maker apparently owes the U.S. government $3 billion.
The IRS filed the claim back on Aug. 20. A judge will review the claim and make a ruling on its accuracy.
Nortel announced it was $11 billion in debt when it filed for bankruptcy earlier this year.
