ProCompare.com is a new online platform dedicated to helping SMBs make smart technology purchasing decisions and find IT professionals who can help them deploy such solutions. Indirect channel partners can go to the Web site and list a profile of their companies for free, no strings attached. However, the key is to build up a ProTrust score by offering credible, non-biased product reviews and advice. When a user is searching for a particular type of technology expert or agent, the partners with the highest ProTrust scores will return at the top of the search results – much like how many news sites’ seeding functions work today.

The beta platform is now inviting SMB technology experts to create their online “storefronts,” providing them free exposure to potential clients and partners. Users can get personalized product recommendations based on product ratings by experts, and search the community of IT professionals by their trust level, area of expertise and/or location. Experts can build an online profile, review products, or communicate with other members and create or join groups – much like the increasingly popular LinkedIn network.

The platform uses a patent-pending technology to allow personalization of the recommendation based on the user's relative importance of key decision criteria, while ensuring reliability based on the relative trust level of the various experts who rated these criteria.
