XO Communications said Thursday that all of its Metro and EoX Ethernet products can be found in GeoQuote, a real-time commercial broadband research tool created by XO master agent, Telarus Inc.
GeoQuote powers publicly accessible Web sites such as ShopforEthernet.com as well as the back office used by Telarus independent agents to perform research for clients looking to purchase metro Ethernet broadband products.

"Allowing Telarus agents access to our Ethernet footprint with the associated capability and price points is key to enabling them to sell our Ethernet broadband products with great speed and efficiency."
GeoQuote's Ethernet lookup tool shortens the time required to find fiber-lit buildings in any given area of the United States, said the companies. Using an XML API, XO can communicate in real time to GeoQuote the exact location of the closest lit building as well as extended EoX products available. Even though other carriers’ Ethernet footprints are available in GeoQuote, XO was the first to transmit the data requisite to quote the location of the fiber-lit building, the bandwidth capability of that facility and the price for each port speed, the companies said.
Telarus has been a master agent of XO Communications since 2003 and recently won the 2006 X-Factor award for the highest percentage annual growth. As a result of that performance Telarus was awarded a top master agent contract with XO in July.
