Dell to Buy SaaS Provider Everdream

November 19, 2007 - News

Dell Inc. said last week it will acquire Everdream Corp., further capitalizing on the growing trend of SaaS.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dell said the acquisition of the California-based company complements its purchase earlier this year of software company SilverBack Technologies. The computer maker said the acquisitions are part of its strategy to “Simplify IT.”

“The planned Everdream acquisition is a significant step in Dell’s next-generation service offerings and provides Dell an expanded presence in the rapidly growing SaaS-enabled managed services market,” said Steve Schuckenbrock, Dell senior vice president. “Everdream has an extremely talented team that has developed industry leading technology enabling customers and partners to easily and affordably manage PCs from anywhere in the world.”

Everdream products will continue to be developed for and offered through channel partners, and will also serve as the foundation for future Dell service offerings, Dell said.
