TalkSwitch on Tuesday released the fourth version of its configuration software and added to its line of PBX telephone systems. All items are available for sale through the company’s resellers.

The company also has launched a new partner Web site.

The upgraded software allows local extensions on TalkSwitch systems to be enabled as either analog or IP; the functionality converts those platforms to fully hybrid IP PBXs. Users also are able to customize the mix of IP and analog extensions they want.

In addition to enabling IP extensions, release 4.0 adds e-mail notification of new voice-mail messages; it sends voice-mail messages as .WAV files for playback; and it increases to 10 the number of remote extensions on each unit. A programmable holiday mode scheduler also provides call handling settings for specific dates.

Existing TalkSwitch customers can download the new release online. New TalkSwitch systems come with the software.

Meanwhile, the company also has released two new hybrid IP PBXs, the 280VS and the 284VS. Each system accommodates two incoming telephone lines and provides eight local extensions that users can configure as IP or analog, and 10 remote extensions. The 284VS also includes support for four VoIP trunks.

The 280VS and the 284VS are sold through TalkSwitch resellers and through the company directly.

TalkSwitch launched a new Web site for its resellers on Nov. 21. The site features an RSS feed of company news, and offers better navigation as well as improved accessibility for people with vision problems, the company said. A secure Reseller Zone contains information including marketing materials, customizable product collateral, product data and spec sheets, and case studies to help partners sell TalkSwitch products.

Reseller Zone lets VARs update account information in real time and allow them to sign up for technical Webinars, traveling seminars and newsletters.
