ZyXEL Unveils G-2000 Plus System

June 14, 2005 - News

ZyXEL Communications Inc. at the WiFi/VoWiFi Planet show in Baltimore today launched its ZyAIR G-2000 Plus 802.11b/g Wireless 4-port Router, a secure WLAN solution with built-in PEAP RADIUS server.

The system is for SOHO and SMB users. Wireless security typically has kept small offices from adopting wireless networking because proper WPA implementation was too costly and complicated.

The ZyAIR G-2000 Plus delivers enterprise-level features, ZyXEL says. The 802.11b/g wireless access point and 10/100mbps four-port switch allows a multiple-user connection to the Internet by using one IP address. The system offers flexible configuration options including WebGUI, Telnet Access and SNMP for network administration and maintenance.

The ZyAIR G-2000 Plus built-in PEAP RADIUS Server allows users to create a secure wireless network and access corporate networks from outside the physical premises. Digital certificates can be used in addition to usernames and passwords for additional security. The system also has an improved Stateful Packet Inspection firewall with attack alert and protection against denial of service, hackers, network intruders and other threats.
