Customer-Satisfaction Rankings: Fixed-Line Operators
Fixed-line telephone service remains the most satisfying of all types of telecommunications, but that's in part due to the continued shrinkage of landlines use in the U.S.
That's according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), which says that four in 10 households now rely solely on cellular phone service. In its just-released 2014 scores, ACSI reports a 1.4 percent dip in satisfaction with fixed-line service, falling from a 2013 score of 74 points to 73 this year.
So if people are ditching their landlines in droves, why aren't the scores dropping more quickly? Simple. It's the most satisfied who are sticking around, ACSI noted.
