Intelisys Celebrates 20 Years at Channel Connect 2013
Cloud and carrier services distributor Intelisys marked 20 years in business at Channel Connect 2013, Oct. 9-11, in San Francisco.
More than 600 people, including nearly 300 sales partners, joined the celebration, making this Intelisys' largest event to date.
The three-day event, held at the Westin St. Francis, was kicked off with a full-day of education with Cloud Services University.
Intelisys briefed its supplier executives about its momentum with VARs, cable and cloud. It also unveiled a supplier version of MyIntelisys management dashboard.
Day one was capped off by a packed supplier fair, which included 58 suppliers – a dozen more than last year.
Things picked up early on day two with an 8 a.m. breakfast panel featuring agents and VARs discussing cloud, convergence, carriers and channel conflict.
Suppliers also got their time on the stage to update sales partner on their products and services with case studies and new QuickFire three-minute pitches. An all-star panel of channel chiefs from Level 3, Windstream, XO, EarthLink, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and MegaPath gave partners a strategic view of the market.
New this year were panels on SIP trunking, big bandwidth and a candid conversation with supplier channel managers about the good, bad and ugly of their jobs.
Partners met one-on-one with suppliers during a speed networking event, Supplier Dash, before the main event – the annual awards dinner where Intelisys honored its Top Performing Champions club winners.
More than 600 people attended the dinner event, which also was the backdrop for Intelisys' 20-year anniversary celebration. Intelisys' Andrew Pryfogle, the event's master of ceremonies, delivered a humorous multimedia retrospective of the company's journey along with a heartfelt thank you to sales partners that made possible the company’s growth to be the largest master agency.
"What started to build around Intelisys was this brand, this culture, this reputation for epic performance. We knew early on it wasn't our doing, it was your doing," he said. "Our true north is you."
In true Intelisys fashion, an after-party followed at The Starlight Room at the nearby Drake Hotel.
The final day of the event kicked off with excursions. Partners could choose from golfing, a tour of San Francisco, a spa treatment, a journey to wine country or a tour of a brewery with tequila tasting.
