On March 2, Telecom Brokerage Inc. (TBI) staff members participated in the CHICAGO Dance Marathon for the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. During the annual fundraising event, sponsored dancers stay on their feet for 13.1 hours for the benefit of the young patients of Lurie Children's Hospital. TBI's participation in the event was part of the newly launched TBI Cares initiative, which the company established to further support the Chicago community and enrich the lives of TBI staff.
Two months prior to the dance marathon, TBI staff members began fundraising. The Chicago office raised $250 with a bake sale for staff and neighboring businesses in the Cumberland Metro Park. The Wisconsin office also raised $300. In addition, TBI sought sponsorship for their dancers from partners and vendors. GCG Financial and XO Communications each sponsored a dancer for a $400 donation.
"GCG feels that giving back to the communities we serve is an important part of our culture and something our associates look forward to," said Phil Chavez, senior consultant for GCG. "Supporting the TBI Cares initiative to raise money for the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago was one of the highlights of this year's GCG Generous Community Giving program."
"XO is proud to sponsor our partner, TBI, in their efforts to support the Lurie Children's Hospital," said Timothy Peterson, XO's partner business development manager. "The new hospital is a great addition to the downtown Chicago area and we wish them nothing but the best and will continue to support them whenever possible."
TBI Cares raised a total of more than $1,500 for Lurie Children's Hospital.
