Slide Show: Top Takeaways from Intelisys' Channel Connect 2012
More than 200 sales partners and 45 suppliers attended Channel Connect 2012, the largest partner summit for master agency Intelisys to date.
The three-day event, held Oct. 3-5 in San Francisco, at the Westin St. Francis, kicked off with a full day of education with Cloud Services University. Intelisys also briefed 150 of its supplier executives about its cloud strategy following the May 2012 acquisition of the Cloud Services Coalition.
Day one was capped off by a packed supplier fair, which included at least a dozen new vendors — most in the cloud services space.
Things picked up early on day two with a 7:30 a.m. breakfast panel featuring agents and VARs discussing cloud, convergence, carriers and channel conflict. Suppliers also got their time on the stage to update sales partner on their products and services. An all-star panel of channel chiefs from Level 3, Windstream, TelePacific, EarthLink, Comcast, Time Warner Cable and MegaPath gave partners a strategic view of the market. Finally, partners met one-on-one with suppliers during a new speed networking event, Supplier Dash, that was held in the 32nd floor of the Tower Building with breathtaking views out floor-to-ceiling windows.
The final day of the event kicked off with excursions. Partners could choose from golfing, a tour of San Francisco, a spa treatment, a journey to wine country or a tour of a brewery with tequila tasting.
Partners reconvened for a cocktail party, keynote address and dinner where Intelisys honored its Top Performing Champions club winners. An after-party followed at The Starlight Room at the nearby Drake Hotel.
