Agents, How About Those VARs?

Agents, I hope you have been following our recent coverage about VARs and their changing role both with vendors, including your beloved carriers, and with you. As part of that coverage, we asked the question: Are agents and VARs collaborators or competitors?

You won't be surprised to hear that the answer is both, depending on ... well a lot of variables. (You can read the article if your interested.)

Historically, there has been a spirit of partnership between the two. In practice that takes various forms as we discovered in our benchmark report, "Partnering Trends Between Telecom and IT Channels," with CompTIA in 2011.

How to maintain and nurture those partnership in the new environment where traditional lines between partners have been blurred is the next phase of our work with CompTIA.
