Ready To Party and Win Prizes at Channel Partners?
Each Channel Partners Conference & Expo features its share of fun and this week in Chicago – home of the Cubs, amazing blues, deep-dish pizza and juicy hot dogs – will be no different.
Let’s start with the parties open to all Fall 2011 show attendees:
House of PlanetOne. Master agency PlanetOne Communications (Booth #1112 and elite show sponsor) is hosting a blues jam in the expo hall from 5-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The venue couldn’t be more perfect, really. As our own Chicago-based Larry Lannon noted earlier this month, “The South Side of Chicago, where McCormick Place is located, is an incubus for great music, particularly jazz, soul and most of all blues. For instance, Chess Records, a blues and roots monster, was located just a few blocks from McCormick Place for decades, which drew great stars like John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters and Koko Taylor to the neighborhood – and kept many of them there for the rest of their lives. They’re all gone now, sadly, but the blues lives on, stronger than ever in the Windy City." See you on Aug. 24 in the expo hall!
Expo Hall Opening Reception. From 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Catalyst Telecom and ScanSource Communications are hosting the opening reception. You can look forward to a spread of free food and drinks while you network with exhibitors.
Beer and Fireworks. After the expo hall closes, join GLOBALINX (Booth #1226) for an evening of food, beer and fireworks at Navy Pier. The reseller and IP services provider is kicking things off at 8:30 p.m. at The Beer Garden at Navy Pier’s east end on Wednesday; the event runs until 11:30 p.m. The party will take place outside, so dress accordingly.
Channel Partners Zone. On Thursday, the most anticipated open event just might be CPZ, or Channel Partners Zone (our riff on TMZ). Taking place from 6-7 p.m., it’s the latest evolution of the Channel Partners dynasty designed for agents and partners with fast minds and quick tongues who want to get at the truth immediately. Throw in some cocktails and personality, mix, and you’ve got CPZ. CPZ is an unscripted conversation among the channel elite. In the Zone you will get the uncensored spontaneous scoop of the latest industry happenings and the events of the day from top channel executives. If you love the channel, love being inside the inner circle and love good conversation, you will love the Zone. Thing is, it’s invitation only, since we’re limited to the number of people we can fit in the room. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Channel Partners booth, Booth 1136. But don’t worry! If you don’t get a ticket you can still follow the conversation on Twitter. We’ll be relaying highlights of the conversations in the CPZ Twitter After Party with the hash tag, #CPZone.
Finally, prize giveaways are always a highlight of the Channel Partners Conference & Expo. Here’s the scoop:
Attendees of Thursday morning’s “Secrets of SIP Trunking" will receive a discount code entitling them to 20 percent off further training at The SIP School. The SIP School also will hold a drawing for five free licenses for its training program, “SIP Communications Services for Sales and Marketing Professionals."
TelePacific Communications (Booth #1200 and an executive show sponsor) is eyeing agents in Texas, thanks to its Tel West Network Services Corp. purchase. So, the competitive service provider is giving away five sets of premium tickets to a Dallas Stars, Texas Rangers, Corpus Christi Hooks or Austin Toros game. Partners working out of Texas may drop their business cards off at the TelePacific booth to be eligible for the Aug. 25 5 p.m. drawing.
Wholesale Carrier Services (WCS), an executive sponsor of the Fall 2011 Channel Partners Conference & Expo, is giving away an iPad 2 and other items including executive pens, leather writing pads, umbrellas and more. The service provider is hosting Channel Partners attendees in Room 10B on the first floor from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday; there’s also a free lunch but space is limited.
World Telecom Group (WTG) (Booth #1324 and an elite show sponsor), along with Telcentris, one of its service provider sponsors, is giving away an iPad in its booth. Agents can enter the drawing at the WTG/Energent booth on Wednesday and Thursday during expo hall hours. You must be present to win; the drawing is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday. WTG also will feature Puppet the Psycho Dwarf in its booth, in honor of its carnival theme for this fall’s Channel Partners Conference & Expo. You may have seen Puppet in “Jackass 3D" and on SPIKE TV. All are welcome to stop by to meet Puppet. WTG further will provide rides to and from the Hyatt Regency at McCormick Place to Navy Pier starting at 8 p.m. Thursday and running until about midnight. The agency has contracted a school bus to transport attendees of its closed party but is happy to give rides to any Channel Partners participant who wants to be in the Navy Pier area on Thursday night.
Independent agents and subagents can look forward to winning some great prizes in the “Taste of Chicago" Peer-to-Peer Networking Mixer, hosted by Channel Partners magazine and sponsored by PlanetOne Communications. You must be present to win. All of the prizes are Chicago-themed, except for the last giveaway, which is a big and very cool surprise from PlanetOne. Agents, you won’t want to miss this.
