Channel Surfing Blog: ADVODA Communications Hosts CommUnity Conference
ADVODA Communications recently hosted its 2010 CommUnity technology event, which brought together its key vendors and agent partners from across the western United States. The event was staged at the beautiful Cable Center on the campus of the University of Denver.
The format included primary presentations in the morning followed by a luncheon and keynote presentation by title sponsor, Qwest Communications. Blake Wetzel, vice president of Sales for the Qwest Business Partner Program, talked about the future of Qwest and the direction of the Qwest Business Partner Program. In addition, Bob Schroeder, director of New Product Technologies, also shared some of his vision on product development and direction for Qwest. Agents attending the presentations were fully engaged and really appreciated the forward-looking information they provided. The afternoon used a unique format of topic-based presentations by ADVODA vendor partners, peer-to-peer roundtable discussions and a product show involving more than 20 of ADVODA’s key vendors.
“It’s been the best meeting yet that we have held for our Agent Partners," said Hilary Fox, VP and general manager for ADVODA. “With around eighty Agent Partners in attendance and a large, diverse group of vendors providing product and technology information, everyone left feeling that it was a very good investment of their time."
When asked about the theme of the event, Ron Dunworth, president and CEO, said, “We opened the meeting with a video which challenged the audience to look to all of the vendors in attendance and try to figure out other ways they can grow their business. The questions seemed to shift from a focus on price to ways to bring added services and value to their respective client bases. It was great to see the interaction between the vendors and agents."
From a vendor prospective, Mindy Powers, regional sales director for Qwest, said, "Qwest was thrilled to participate in the 2010 ADVODA CommUnity Conference. We place a high value on our partnership with ADVODA, and always look forward to interacting with their dedicated staff, network of sub-agents and other industry vendors. We were happy to lend our support to this year's successful event!"
The CommUnity Conference is an annual event held by ADVODA and its business partners.
