AT&T Alliance was selected from more than 200 nominees comprised of carriers, resellers, master agencies, and hardware and software vendors. AT&T Alliance is the partner program for service provider AT&T, which specializes in a variety of services for businesses and government agencies. Products include networking, mobility, security, hosting, unified communications and voice.
Channel Partners annually asks its readers to determine the communications industry’s 50 best indirect channel programs; this year's list features 11 first-time appearances, reflecting the industry's shift from traditional to IP, cloud, unified communications and other bandwidth-intensive services. The compilation further contains more IT-centric companies than in years past, highlighting the convergence of the telecom and IT channels.
"Each year, Channel Partners readers tell their suppliers and peers which companies have earned their business, and this year is no exception," said Khali Henderson, editor-in-chief of Channel Partners. "What is significant about 2012 is the number of first-timers to the list as the indirect channel latches on to convergence, the cloud and evolution related to technology and sales techniques."
The most recent Top 50 survey took place in July and the results were compiled from responses given by more than 700 qualified channel partners, including master agents, subagents, independent agents, VARs, dealers, consultants and brokers. Qualified participants cast their votes for their preferred carriers, service providers, resellers, hardware and software vendors, and master agents, ranking them as standouts for factors including ease of doing business, quick quoting, responsiveness, extra support, higher commissions and better SPIFFs.
All 50 winners will be recognized during the general session at the Fall 2012 Channel Partners Conference & Expo on Sept. 12 in Orlando, Fla., and designated as a 2012 Top 50 Channel Program winner in the Channel Program Guide online. Candidates for the Top 50 Channel Programs came from the 2012 listings of the Channel Partners Channel Program Guide, self-nominations and write-in names. Voting took place in July.
