VAPPS RELEASES HYBRID CONFERENCING PLATFORM

Audio conferencing systems provider Vapps has upgraded its Conference Bridge 1000 platform. The device now accommodates hybrid technologies; this means if the Internet connection goes down, the platform automatically switches from IP to the TDM.

The CB1000 is SIP-enabled. It supports up to 18,000 conference participants in multiple simultaneous conferences, and scales on a card-by-card basis. Vapps also says this platform enables broadband providers to target enterprise users, as well as SMBs.

Using the CB1000’s Web-based call-control capabilities, providers can create any combination of call-management features, such as lists, mute and other standard attributes, and then make them available to customers through a Web portal, which users access and manage themselves. Instant availability of recorded conferences also is available by Web or phone.

When dialing into a conference, users can call from SIP, regular or VoWi-Fi phones. The system is sold directly from Vapps.

SIGMA SYSTEMS, CSG INTEGRATE PLATFORMS

Sigma Systems Canada Inc. announced its Sigma Service Management Platform and VoIP Service Package now is part of CSG Systems Inc.’s Advanced Convergent Platform.

The combination lets broadband operators provide a fully automated business and operational environment for digital voice services, the companies say.

Order-entry, customer-care and billing processes are streamlined by CSG and manual order-management processes are removed with Sigma. This means error and order fallout rates go down while provisioning dial tone, call features, voice mail and CLEC gateways is automated.

The Sigma VoIP Service Package is pre-configured to manage specific voice services and interface with specific third-party systems to manage and fulfill PacketCable VoIP services for a specific operator. Advanced graphical user interfaces and tools manage the platform and allow different groups of users to interact with the OSS.
