Dont Call Us, Well Call You

Only three days after the introduction of DoNotCall.gov, 46 percent of consumers who were aware of the FTCs National Do Not Call Registry already had signed up for the service, according to a survey of 300 consumers conducted by InsightExpress, a professional online research firm.

Of those who were unaware of the registry and were advised of the service, more than three quarters (76 percent) said they were likely to register. And, if these respondents had their way, the initiative would not stop with the telephone  more than eight in 10 (83 percent) said they would like to see a similar government-sponsored program to prevent unsolicited e-mails.

Wrong Numbers?
