CTI Group Inc. (Booth 412), a worldwide provider of billing management, telemanagement and call analysis solutions, today announced United Telecom of Michigan has signed a three-year, renewable contract to implement CTI Group's next-generation billing system, MagnaFlex.

United Telecom, based in Petoskey, Mich., has provided long-distance services since 2000. Recently, the company gained state approval to begin offering local service as an alternative to the regional Bell operating company.

"Our needs as a company are growing to include both long-distance and local services, so we were looking for a billing solution that would help us keep pace with these changes and give us future flexibility to add additional services," says Scott Baldwin, president of United Telecom. "MagnaFlex far-and-away delivers the most functionality for the price and their customer service has been reliable and very attentive."

MagnaFlex is a convergent billing solution that supports an evolving array of services, growing as the carrier's needs grow. The major benefit of MagnaFlex for United Telecom is the solution's ability to support the unbundled network element platform (UNE-P), enabling the company to bill for multiple services from different providers.

In addition, MagnaFlex allows United Telecom to blend many services into one bill, develop multiple billing cycles and add electronic bill presentment and payment capabilities later if desired.

Baldwin says the solution maximizes revenue for United Telecom by capturing and rating all calls in a timely fashion, and greatly enhances United Telecom's customer service with near real-time reports, so up-to-date information on usage and rating is available when a customer calls.
