* Small businesses participating in the "TeleBright.com Savings Challenge" found a way to slash their annual telecom rates by nearly $40,000, according to TeleBright.com Inc. (www.telebright. com), which offers analysis and comparison assistance to its small business clients.

Results of the week-long challenge show that businesses can significantly reduce their telecom costs by comparing plans, according to TeleBright.

Participating companies received a free analysis of available plans which met their specific needs.

According to TeleBright, participating small businesses saved an average of 45 percent on their telecom bill.

* TeleMerc.com Inc. (www.telemerc.com) has entered into a strategic partnership with deltathree.com Inc. (www.deltathree.com) to provide TeleMerc.com users free domestic long-distance PC-to-phone call service. The web interface, a one-stop shop for telecom products and services, offers deltathree's ClickIT service allowing users to make free long-distance phone calls within the United States and Canada.

* Simplexity.com Inc. (www.simplexity.com) an online resource for telecom services, has signed a strategic alliance with Sabre Inc. (www.sabre.com) an IT provider in the travel and transportation industry. The partnership involves joint marketing and a cobranded website.

Using the Sabre Marketplace, Simplexity can enable travel agencies to compare and select telecom services online. Simplexity offers nearly 1,000 different plans on its website. Its promotion, announced in September, stipulated that travel agencies would receive free 100-minute prepaid calling cards when they selected a long-distance business plan.

*TelekomNet Inc. (www.telekomnet.com) a global business-to-business marketplace and interactive knowledge center for the networking and telecom industry, has appointed Randall McComas to its strategic advisory board. His duties include examination of relationships, technology issues, markets and strategies that impact TelekomNet.

McComas has served as the vice president and general manager of Scient Corp.'s (www.scient.com) telecommunications business unit.
