* Excel Communications Inc. (www.excel.com), a subsidiary of Teleglobe Inc. (www. teleglobe.com) has rolled out "MyExcel" Internet access to its agents. MyExcel is bundled with the "ishopExcel" online retail shopping service. The bundle carries a $14.95 monthly charge, and includes unlimited Internet access and single-cart shopping at more than 700 catalog merchants. Agents will earn monthly commissions on Internet access and from their customers' online purchases. In addition, MyExcel will provide consumers with customizable content services through its portal, such as headline and local news, stock quotes and weather. The service gives subscribers five e-mail accounts, each with up to 10 MB of storage. MyExcel requires no contracts or set-up fees, and provides toll-free, round-the-clock technical support, Internet connection troubleshooting software and an Internet dialer that automatically updates the access number list each time a customer connects.
* Startec Global Communications Corp. (www.startec.com), a provider of VoIP, data and Internet services, launched an interactive portal during September's AgENt Conference & Expo. The online provisioning system supports Startec's agents as well as its Commercial Services Division, established earlier this year to focus on the business sector. Customers and agents can register for Startec services and select from a menu of available programs. VoiceLog LLC (www.voicelog. com) provides third party verification for orders placed through the site. Startec's future online plans include the construction of a portal exclusively for agents. Agents will be able to place and track orders, view and make changes to customer accounts, and communicate with designated office staff.
* E-commerce company Rbid.com Inc. (www.rbid.com) announced the Fionda Group LLC's (www.fionda.com) telecom services will be available through Rbid's new online, agent-driven marketing subsidiary, iReach Worldwide Inc. iReach will market the Fionda Group's regional, local, international and long-distance services through a "friends and family" agent strategy. Eligible iReach agents will earn residual income, and can take part via online or toll-free dial-in registration. With network services provided by WorldCom Inc. (www.wcom.com) service is nationwide and soon will be available in Canada. The company anticipates further international market expansion. iReach projects it will establish more than 100,000 service customers in the United States and Canada within two years.
* AARO Broadband Wireless Commu- nications Inc. (www.aarowireless.com) has announced the formation of its Agent Alliance sales program. According to AARO chairman and COO Norm Leighty, the program is designed to increase the impact of the high-speed wireless company's products. AARO provides wireless connectivity at speeds up to 100mbps, and offers services such as unified communications, IP telephony and videoconferencing. Alliance agents can earn monthly residual commissions on services sold.
