* ITXC Corp. (www.itxc.com), a service providers' service provider for Internet telephony, has opened a super PoP in Jersey City, N.J., to facilitate increased network demand and growth, scalability for future applications and higher quality service. The super PoP houses a Class A data center that handles the company's new enhanced services.
The PoP also facilitates the growth of ITXC.net, which has carriers, resellers, PTTs and portals connected to it, and sends traffic to the 187 IP PoPs in 115 cities and 49 countries around the world.
The new "System 7 ready" super PoP lets ITXC improve QoS over ITXC.net by having the "best of breed" Internet backbone and traditional circuit-switched long-distance providers connected to ITXC.net.
ITXC has super PoPs in New York City and Los Angeles. These provide ITXC's carriers and resellers with immediate and direct connectivity to ITXC.net, ITXC's global infrastructure that provides consistently high quality for real-time voice and voice-enabled e-commerce over the Internet.
* Interactive Intelligence Inc. (www.ININ.com), a developer of interaction management software, has announced a reseller agreement that allows eircom (www.eircom.ie), Ireland's largest telecommunications provider, to sell, market and support Interactive Intelligence's "all-in-one" communications software solution known as the Enterprise Interaction Center (EIC).
eircom joins KPN Holland as Interactive Intelligence's second European-based tele-communications provider partner, adding to an established list of more than 15 resellers throughout Europe. eircom will be among the first Interactive Intelligence partners to sell, market and support the company's newest enterprise offering designed for businesses with between 50 and 1,000 employees at a given site.
* ITelrad Networks (www.telradusa.com) has announced Be There!, a partner application from DATA RACE Inc. (www.datarace.com). Be There! provides seamless remote access to home office functions, including the telephone system, local area network (LAN), e-mail, Internet applications and faxing.
Telrad will offer the application through the interconnect dealers distributive channel that has installed nearly three million Telrad stations nationwide.
Be There! connects to any Telrad Digital system via an ONS or SLD port. Central office lines may be routed through the Telrad Digital system or directly to a Data Race Be There! server using T1 trunks.
On the remote side, users need only one Be There! port and a client kit for their PCs; the remote access application provides voice and data over a single dial-up line.
Meanwhile, a visual graphic of the user's telephone on the screen allows point-and-click access to all the main office onsite functions.
