Business Telecom Inc. (BTI) (www.btitele.com) has appointed John Leach vice president of sales. Leach is responsible for BTI's Private Line and Wholesale Fiber Network Sales groups as well as for the Data Sales Services and BTI's Dealer Agent program. He most recently served as senior vice president of sales for Teleglobe Inc. (www.teleglobe.com).

Global Telesystems Group Inc. (GTS) (www.gtsgroup.com) has tapped a former Qwest Communications International Inc. executive for a new position at GTS. Paul Nemirovsky has been appointed president, GTS Hosting Services. Nemirovsky takes over international responsibility for the design and the development of GTS "on-net" web-hosting centers, which will provide web-hosting products and services to web-centric businesses.

Broadview Networks (www.broadviewnet.com) has appointed George F. Holland as executive vice president, sales and marketing. Holland is a 20-year industry veteran and former senior executive with Covad Communications and AT&T Corp.

PointOne Telecommunications Inc. ( www.pointone.net) has recruited Chris Bodkins as its telco network routing manager. Bodkins is responsible for setting up network routing tables and assisting the billing department with call detail records (CDRs). Previously, Bodkins was Westel Inc.'s network operations manager.

Ian E. DixBroadWing Inc. (www.broadwing.com), a company created from the merger of Cincinnati Bell Inc. and IXC Communi-cations Inc., has appointed Ian E. Dix chief marketing officer. Dix is responsible for the market positioning and analysis, product positioning, marketing communications and advertising for Broad-Wing. He previously was senior vice president of the Internet solutions division at Qwest Communications International Inc.

Telesystem International Wireless (TIW) (www.tiw.ca) has appointed Steven Edward Evans as CEO of Dolphin Telecom plc (www.dolphin-telecom.co.uk). Until recently, Evans was deputy managing director of One 2 One, the DCS-1800 operator in the United Kingdom.

Intasys Corp. (www.intasys.com) has appointed Steve Saviuk chairman of the company's board of directors. This follows his appointment in September 1999 as CEO and vice chairman. Saviuk replaces Stephen J. Roth, who announced his resignation in December 1999.

CO Space Services LLC (www.cospaceservices.com), a provider of carrier-neutral collocation space, has added two members to its executive team. Leonard A. Weiss now is CFO, and Steven A. Gunderson is vice president of sales. Weiss formerly was executive vice president and CFO for First Data Investor Services Group, a subsidiary of First Data Corp. Gunderson most recently was sales vice president, eastern region, for IXC Communications Inc.

Ennovate Networks Inc. (www.ennovatenetworks.com) has appointed Dr. John L. Glazik chairman, president and CEO. He will answer to Ennovate's board of directors and is responsible for overseeing and driving the company's strategic direction as well as managing daily operations.

Universal Access Inc. (www.universalaccess.net) has named George A. King senior vice president, corporate development. He is responsible for directing Universal Access's strategy for expanding services, participating in new markets and creating business alliances. He joined the company upon its formation in 1997 as executive adviser and board member.


Former TCI, AT&T Executive Joins GlobalCenter as Chairman, CEO

Leo J. Hindery Jr.Leo J. Hindery Jr., former president and CEO of AT&T Broadband and Internet Services (AT&T BIS), is now chairman and CEO of GlobalCenter Inc., the Internet services operation of Global Crossing Ltd. (www.globalcrossing.com).

"Leo brings to GlobalCenter a deep understanding of the rapidly growing web-hosting and web-based commerce markets, which will be invaluable as we build on our already strong position in these new dynamic business," says Gary Winnick, Global Crossing founder and chairman.

Previous to his position at AT&T BIS, Hindery was president and CEO of Tele-Communications Inc. (TCI), which AT&T acquired. Hindery has a record for building businesses and creating shareholder value. During his tenure at TCI, he restructured the company and the cable industry, creating more than $50 billion in value for TCI shareholders.
